Milford's Team Project has moved to a new wikispace. Please visit Eagles Learning Lab!
Purpose/Goals: (Let's co-develop a succinct statement we can share as to why we picked this topic and why it's so important to us!)
Audience: (Please share your thoughts on audience. Are we going to focus on students, staff and parents/community - or should we narrow our focus down?)
Possible Resources/Curriculum: (Share links you think would be valuable and why/what purpose and or share links to your Delicious collection on this topic - please annotate your links.) Social Safety - Free student packets, videos, resources for multiple audiences Digital Citizenship and Creative Content Digital Citizenship in Schools is Mike Ribble's book published in 2007. It is available on Amazon for $23. I also found it for free through the database EBSCOHost. You can get the book there in a series of PDFs--chapter by chapter. I downloaded them all. It really looks like a resource we should think about using. What do you guys think? Email me if you can't find the source and would like me (Betsy) to forward you a chapter. Here's the table of contents:
Chapter 1: The Basics of Digital Citizenship
Chapter 2: The Nine Elements of Digital Citizenship (same as the blog link above)
Section 2: Digital Citizenship in Schools
Chapter 3: Creating a Digital Citizenship Program
Chapter 4: Professional Development Activities in Digital Citizenship
Chapter 5: Teaching Digital Citizenship to Students
Chapter 6: Foundational Lessons in Digital Citizenship
Chapter 7: Guided Lessons in Digital Citizenship
Brainstorming:
Let's use this mind map collaboratively. First make an account at mindomo.
Below is a picture of what our mind map looks like as of February 7. the picture isn't "live," so go to the actual site to edit and access links.
Could we create an experience for staff that would unveil and allow them to discover and feel the need for teaching digital citizenship?
